Medior Marketing & Communications Specialist (24–32 hours)
Are you, or do you know, our new Marketing & Communications colleague? We are looking for a Medior Marketing & Communications Specialist (24–32 hours per week).
The best-kept secret of innovative organizations is not knowledge alone. An inspiring work environment contributes just as much. The pride and sense of belonging that come from being part of a “great place to work.”
At Broekbakema, we help organizations create buildings where people can truly thrive. We believe communities achieve greater impact when people feel connected and at home. Sounds good, right? If you would like to help us achieve that mission—or know someone who might—read on.
What will you do?
You will ensure that our day-to-day communication with clients and business relations runs smoothly. You create and publish content for newsletters, social media channels, and our website. Writing engaging stories and compelling copy comes naturally to you.
You will also monitor performance metrics and analytics. Using your creativity, you develop attractive client presentations, visual materials, and other communication tools, working with external suppliers when needed. In addition, you organize client and relationship events, overseeing every detail from concept to execution.
You create activity and content calendars and work closely with our partners and architects within a compact and collaborative team. You will have a real impact on our marketing and communications activities, with plenty of opportunities to grow in your role. After all, we believe in growing together.
Does this sound like you?
We would love it if you bring:
- Enthusiasm for our mission of building communities
- A bachelor’s degree level of working and thinking (HBO level or equivalent)
- 3–6 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within professional services
- Experience writing content and web articles
- Experience with Adobe InDesign and video editing tools (preferred)
- Basic experience with Google Analytics, CRM systems, and email marketing platforms
- A proactive attitude and a strong focus on achieving results
- The ability to perform well under pressure
- Excellent writing skills in Dutch and a good command of English
- Curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to learn
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with attention to detail
- A team-oriented mindset and a desire to celebrate successes together
A day in the life
Your day starts at our inspiring office in the iconic Van Nelle Factory with a good cup of coffee (or tea, if you prefer). You catch up with colleagues around our famous espresso machine before checking the day’s priorities in our project management system.
In the morning, you write several social media posts and coordinate them with colleagues—you know everyone in the office, after all. You also spend time organizing practical arrangements for a client event scheduled for next quarter. In between, you speak with a photographer about new images of a recently completed headquarters project for a multinational client.
During lunch, a colleague asks whether you will join the next office outing to Rotterdam Zoo, one of Broekbakema’s clients. In the afternoon, you review presentation slides with one of the firm’s partners and ask for feedback on a website article you have just written. The following week, that content will be featured in our digital newsletter. Before heading home, you check the registrations for a client event later that month.

We are looking for an enthusiastic architectural Revit modeler
Broekbakema designs inspiring buildings in the fields of education and research, office environments, public and government buildings, master plans, renovations, and interior concepts.
Every year, we design tens of BIM models. We strive for the highest quality in all of these models, and we need you to help us achieve that! Together with our architects and BIM manager, you’ll work to take this to an even higher level, step by step.
Why would you want to do that at Broekbakema?
Inspiring buildings are created together. We stand for equality. Everyone matters. Every contribution counts! Broekbakema is led by a dedicated management team with architect-directors who are at the heart of the projects. For each project, a team of employees is formed where traditional role divisions are often broken down; everyone is expected to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility, commitment, and input.
Since 2006, we’ve been setting up our projects in Revit, so we start every project with a structural design in Revit. That means you’ll rarely encounter a colleague who can’t work with Revit. Your work therefore has an impact on the entire firm.
What will you be doing?
As a specialist, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all models meet the required baseline quality standards. To do this, you’ll use Revit, supplemented by software such as Enscape and ACC. Naturally, you’ll perform checks based on the BIM ILS standards, but with your technical expertise, you won’t stop there—you’ll also develop your own checks to ensure the feasibility of the buildings.
You rarely build on your own; “BIMming” is ideally suited for achieving an integrated design. You provide input on the implementation plan and coordinate with other parties to determine what input and/or output is needed. Of course, you don’t forget to check on this throughout the process.
Every year, we develop new workflows. Think of performing a full MPG calculation based on BIM or generating output for a BENG calculation, but BCI calculations are also part of this. You enjoy innovating in this area and making proposals.
We are looking for someone who
- Works with precision; your checks are airtight, and you identify any errors yourself and in a timely manner
- Inspires colleagues with your knowledge of Revit
- Experience with Dynamo is a plus, but with your eagerness to learn, you can also pick this up on the job
- You are drawn to Broekbakema’s body of work
- A sense for circular and people-centered design
- Proficiency in the Dutch language
- Relevant work experience: 3–5 years
What you’ll get
- A fantastic work environment with a beautiful view in the historic Van Nelle Factory.
- The opportunity to work on exciting projects alongside great colleagues!
- Competitive salary in accordance with the architects’ collective bargaining agreement
The position is for 24–40 hours per week. To apply, please email your cover letter, resume, and portfolio in a single PDF file of no more than 10MB to info@broekbakema.nl
