From Design to Future-Proof Use for Eurofins

Last month, the new building for Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing Netherlands was officially completed at the Leiden Bio Science Park. Last Friday, our project team walked through the building for the first time, where Eurofins is now busy setting up the labs and other facilities. It was a special moment to see our design come to life in the real world.

Compact, flexible, and future-proof

Eurofins wanted to bring both locations in Leiden together under one roof and create an office and lab environment that “grows” with the organization. Flexibility, collaboration, and sustainable functionality were central to our design. The result is a compact and efficient building with generic lab floors that allow for various layouts and are easily adaptable to future needs.

Experience and insights

During our visit, we noticed how daylight flows deep inside, how the floors feel spacious, and how the central core will soon serve as a meeting place for employees and visitors. The building functions exactly as intended and truly makes a bold statement on the campus. We are proud of the execution of the façade in terms of material, color, and rhythm; the effect is exactly as we had intended.

A handover does not mark the end, but rather the beginning of a building that evolves alongside both the organization and us as designers. We look forward to the official opening and the insights this will provide us for future projects.
